Do You Like A Challenge?

In this Medieval Fantasy Momentum-Based Bullet Hell, where momentum is your only source of survival, play as a living dice and bounce around the environment to dodge projectiles and gain enough momentum to kill enemies.

What is Diced Out?

This was made for the GMTK 2022 Game Jam by @Trojanowski111 & @4ydam within the provided deadline of 2 days. This was ours first real game jam in which we have participated and ended up with a submission that we are both quite proud of.

We may continue with this idea in the future if it happens so that we get motivated enough to come back to it, however the key factor in us not getting back to this might be due to constantly having new ideas we want to try out.

Further Concept

Now, because this was produced for a game jam, we were very limited to what we could get done and include in this short preview of our concept. We had  couple of interesting ideas that if we were to continue working on this game we would consider and test out.

With the dice roll mechanic, each experience would be unique with randomised factors such as different level variants, enemy amounts and types and more planned in the future.

There would either be an actual storyline and narrative to follow, or instead fully leaning towards a roguelike in which you would be able to try out different 'builds' with an addition of abilities and more ways to defeat any opponents.

We have used a few asset packs whilst trying to get as much out of this and focusing on programming and design of the project.

As of now (15/04/24) the game is playable in the browser. We have slightly updated the game so the controls are easier and added some VFX. Original version that was submitted for the GMTK game jam is still available to download below.
